NYC // Roebling Tea Room

The Roebling Tea Room is located in a former industrial space in Williamsburg. Just go up the steps and into the big dining room for brunch, lunch, dinner or -what’s in a name?- tea! The restaurant is owned by former rock musician Syd Silver, and the food is by the hand of self-trained chef Dennis Spina. Both the space and the food you get on your plate have an eclectic and relaxed vibe, and according to many (oh so many!) reviews, Roebling offers amazing dishes.

We’ll gladly take their word for it but our own choices could have been better. The steak tartare with chickpeas was a bit overly dressed in mayo, and my own burger was good but as I ordered it without tomato, a bun, the burger and fries was everything I got on my plate. Great fries though!

That being said, the cocktails were great, the coffee was nice and the staff was friendly, so we’ll definitely be going back to this light filled and pleasant space next time we’re in the area! Preferably on a sunny day, when the amazing terrace in the back is open for business. And we’re so ready to be wowed by the food the second time around.
